Piaggio Group: company agreement for the recruitment of up to 580 people on a fixed-term basis and 50 people on open-ended contracts

The agreement will serve the increase in production at the Group’s three Italian plants: Pontedera, Mandello del Lario and Scorzè

Pontedera, 29 November 2021 – The Piaggio Group (PIA.MI) has commenced a fixed-term recruitment program for up to 580 people, to strengthen the workforce of the Group’s Italian plants in Pontedera (Pisa), Mandello del Lario (Lecco) and Scorzè (Venice) starting from the first quarter of 2022.

Specifically, 342 fixed-term recruitments are planned to date for the Pontedera site, 147 in Scorzè and 91 in Mandello del Lario.

The agreements signed with the trades unions envisage the recruitment of workers who have had experience in Piaggio in the last few years, so enabling the skills acquired not to be wasted and a more effective response to be made to the changes taking place on the market.

Piaggio also plans to hire an additional 50 people on open-ended contracts in Pontedera by March 2022, and to stabilise vertical part-time workers and leasing staff at the Moto Guzzi production facility.

The plan to increase the workforce (currently consisting of 3,350(1) employees in Italy, 6,045 worldwide) next year is also connected with the excellent market response to Piaggio Group products, and the rise in two-wheeler demand expected in 2022.
